Introducing Miggy (11 of 12)

miggy

Where do you currently reside?

The North End of Boston, Mass.

What are you up these days?

Exploring my new hometown, cooking up a storm, reading all the Jane Austen novels, planning my next trip, apartment hunting, trying to learn French.

What five words best describe you?

Antsy. Adventurous. Curious. Sensitive. Contradictory.

What is your favorite number?

6…my number in youth soccer. It just stuck I guess.

What is your favorite chair?

This was torture because I love so many different chairs for so many different reasons. I’m going to have to do a future post on all my favs, but for now I’ll go with an original vintage A Series Chair by Xavier Pauchard. They were designed in 1934 in France and manufactured by Tolix for industrial use. His son Jean modified the design and it became the A56 Armchair. I love that they work with almost any aesthetic and look great from the backyard to the dining table, not to mention they stack. The stools are fantastic, too!

Long Island, New York. Though I thought I would possibly never go back, it seems I’ve never left.

What are you up to these days?

The more operative question would be what am I not up to. Aside from working full time as a residential design consultant, I coach a high school dance team, recently moved into a new apt with my fiance, and am planning my wedding which is in less than 5 months (eek!). Not too much free time on my hands.

What five words best describe you?

Perfectionist. Devoted. Animated. Affectionate. Glamorous.

What is your favorite number?

Easy, 22. It’s my birthday and a nice whole number. Is that completely cheesy?

What is your favorite chair?

The France Elkin Loop Chair from the 1930s. Any fellow “chair” can attest to my love of curves.

Where do you currently reside?

Currently living in a 23rd floor sanitarium in Manhattan.

What are you up to these days?

Learning the ins and outs and little tricks of how to be a great ER nurse. I prefer to spend my time outside of the hospital flexing and stretching my body in the yoga room, swimming at the gym, and cooking and juicing behind my kitchen counter.

What five words best describe you?

Ambivert. Lucky. Scatter-brained. Observant. Searching.

What is your favorite number?

3. I think I decided that because my favorite teacher, Mrs. Brostoff, taught third grade…

What is your favorite chair?

My CB2 office chair. It was my partner-in-crime during my hours long study sessions throughout nursing school; It’s sleek, stylish, and, easy on the bottom! Though I’m no longer in the thick of the design profession, it’s nice to know that I’m still choosy with “design” – as with any tangibles I purchase, I make sure that they’re both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Also, it was the first piece of furniture that I bought!
