Boston Globe Feature: Lexington Home, Before & After Photos

We just love a good before and after and our Lexington Home project (recently featured in The Boston Globe!) is no exception. Below we show the transformations of our clients’ breakfast nook, kitchen, and family room. Take a look!

Before + After: Kitchen

When our clients purchased their forever home they were drawn to the good bones, open space, and all the potential it held. The kitchen had a great layout and top of the line appliances, but felt dated and dark. A fresh coat of paint on the cabinets and fun new tile and hardware transformed the once dreary room into a bright and cheerful space that our clients felt more at home in.

Before + After: Breakfast Nook and Kitchen

Swapping the sage green on the walls for a warm white instantly made the space feel brighter. The out-dated track lighting was replaced with a funky linear chandelier (one of our client’s favorite pieces!). And perhaps the most transformative of all, an under-utilized corner of the kitchen was converted into a fun and functional breakfast nook. The custom banquet is now the most popular spot in the house. Just to the left of the banquet is a new and improved custom built-in featuring additional pantry storage, microwave, a roll out tray for serving tea, and hidden file storage.

Before + After: Family Room

The adjacent family room needed a good layout for cozy nights in for a family of three as well as room to spread out for visiting relatives and lots of entertaining. The first step was brightening up the room with a fresh white on the walls and softening the oak floors with a warm gray. Our clients love color so we used every chance we had to introduce it. Every soft surface from the window treatments and rug to upholstery and pillows was layered with warm and inviting color.
